On June 18, little Audrey was born to Duke & Vivian in Plano, Texas. Exactly six months later, on December 18, little Nathan arrived to Denny & Beryl in Flower Mound — just 37 minutes away. God was already writing our story before we even breathed our first breath (Psalm 139).

Two Kids, Two Different Interests
By 2005, Audrey and Nathan had both reached the grand old age of five. Audrey started Kindergarten, where she could usually be found drawing, building with Legos, and doing whatever else kept her busy. Nathan was still in Preschool and was busy with his own important interests — including [trains] and [something else]. They were growing up just a couple cities away from each other, completely unaware that one day they'd be doing life together.

Almost, but Not Quite
Nathan began his freshman year at the University of Texas at Austin, and Audrey returned for her sophomore year. That year, they both were a part of Epic Movement, an Asian American campus ministry at UT. Their paths were officially crossing now — but somehow, they still barely talked. Looking back, they were getting pretty good at missing each other.

Still Just Barely Friends
Audrey graduated from UT with her bachelor's degree and decided to stick around for one more year to finish her master's. Nathan entered his senior year. They still weren't really friends, although Audrey occasionally found herself around Nathan through her sister Elena, who would help Nathan unload A/V equipment for Epic's large group gatherings. They were in the same places, had many of the same friends, and somehow still hadn't figured it out.

And Then There Was Dinner
In 2023, both Audrey and Nathan graduated and moved back to Dallas. Before long, they both found themselves at Dallas Chinese Bible Church, in the same community group. This time, they actually started becoming friends. While preparing for the church’s mission food fair, they began texting about the very important logistics of what to cook. Then, after Audrey finished serving in Awana, Nathan texted and offered to save Audrey some dinner while she joined the community group to finish cooking that night. What started with a simple text, more texts, some walks, and a whole lot of God’s timing, the rest is history.

The Question
Two years, countless memories, and one very important question later, Nathan proposed to Audrey while on vacation with her family in Tahoe. The ring was made with two diamonds from Audrey’s grandmother. The ring box was made by Nathan from wood that belonged to Ted & Pat, friends from Dallas Chinese Bible Church. She said yes.

A Special Day
On September 18, 2027, a date perfectly between our birthdays, we'll gather with the people we love to celebrate what God has been writing all along — and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Join us as we exchange our vows and make our covenant before God, surrounded by family, friends, and church community who have helped shape our story. The day begins at Dallas Chinese Bible Church, where Nathan and Audrey now attend and where Audrey’s parents and aunts were married.
After the ceremony, the celebration continues! Come spend the afternoon with us as we gather our favorite people in one place. Join us for lunch, hors d’oeuvres, and plenty of time to catch up and celebrate. We’ll share a few words, enjoy some special moments, take photos, and spend time with the people who have been part of our story. We’re excited to celebrate with you!
We've gathered all the little things you might be wondering about. Take a look around.
